Colorful Italian Wedding Editorial at Villa Balbiano
Nestled in the foothills of the French Alps lies a lakeside Italian villa, unlike any other. Known as Villa Balbiano,
this 16th-century palazzo set on the shores of Lake Como evokes a sense of timeless romance and provided an
unforgettable backdrop to this wedding editorial shoot. Inspired by a fusion of French and Italian style, wedding
planner, Tatiana Henric, incorporated design elements unique to both cultures,
all while playing with color, light, and texture.
The color palette was built around rich shades of rose, coral, ochre, and copper, all of which worked together
beautifully against the villa’s cream exterior. Florals also played an important role throughout the design, from
the ceremony to the tabletop, and every moment in between. The floral design incorporated a mixture of
sweet peas, roses, orchids and buttercups in saffron, mustard, and orange hues, softened by shades of dusty pink.
As a nod to French culture within this charming Italian setting, the tablescape selections included Baccarat, the most
renowned French manufacturer of fine crystal glassware. Baccarat crystal glasses, votives, and vases complemented
the colorful florals, while also reflecting their tints and the surrounding light for a stunning effect.
